Not Today is a habit tracker that turns what you log into an estimate of time gained or lost. Most of what you write never leaves your phone. This page explains exactly what does leave, why, and how to get rid of it.

Who is responsible

Not Today is made by Arkadii Grebennikov, an independent developer based in Valencia, Spain. For anything on this page, including requests about your data, write to support@nottodayapp.me.

What stays on your device

This is the important part, because it covers the most personal thing in the app:

Your habit diary. Everything you log: cigarettes, alcohol, meals, sleep, activity, water, mood, stress. It is stored on your device.
Apple Health data. Steps, sleep, workouts and weight are read from Apple Health only to calculate and show you your own numbers. They are never sent to us or to anyone else, and never used for advertising or marketing.
iCloud backup. If you use iCloud, your data syncs through your own iCloud account so it survives reinstalling the app. We have no access to it.

What leaves your device

Two switches, both off until you turn them on. Analytics and crash reporting share one switch. Sharing failed AI text is a second, separate switch, because raw text is more personal than counts. Both live in Profile → Sync, and you can change your mind at any time.

What we never do

We do not sell your data.
We do not use it for advertising, and there are no ad networks or trackers in the app.
We do not build profiles about you across other apps or websites.
We do not use Apple Health data for anything except showing you your own numbers.

Legal basis, if you are in the EU or UK

Performing our agreement with you: your account, shared challenges, and your subscription.
Your consent: analytics, crash reporting, and sharing failed AI text. You give it explicitly and can withdraw it at any time in Profile → Sync.
Our legitimate interest: keeping the app secure and working.

Sending text to OpenAI happens in the United States. That transfer relies on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, which OpenAI has in place.

How long we keep things

Challenge data: kept until you delete your account.
Failed AI text: 30 days, then deleted automatically.
Analytics and crash data: as long as the respective service retains it, and never tied to your identity.

Deleting everything

Open Profile → Delete account. That removes your account and your challenge data from our servers, resets analytics identifiers, and clears local data.

Two things it deliberately does not touch, because they are not ours to touch: your Apple Health data, which only you and Apple control, and an active subscription, which is tied to your Apple ID and is cancelled in your device's Settings.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, object to how we use it, or withdraw consent. Write to support@nottodayapp.me and we will respond within 30 days. If you are in the EU and unhappy with the outcome, you can complain to your national data protection authority — in Spain that is the AEPD.

Children

Not Today is not designed for children and should not be used by anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Not medical advice

The numbers the app shows are illustrative estimates built from published population-level research. They are not a medical assessment, not a prediction, and not a substitute for talking to a doctor.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will update the date at the top and tell you in the app.
